Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Kernl ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Kernl is a social movie and TV show rating app that allows users to rate content, connect with friends, and receive AI-powered recommendations from Colonel Kernel.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use Kernl. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at privacy@trykernl.com
• Be at least 13 years of age

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Create fake accounts or impersonate others
• Attempt to access other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer or extract the app's source code
• Use automated tools to scrape data from the app
• Post offensive, defamatory, or harmful content

5. User Content

You retain ownership of ratings and content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Kernl a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content within the app. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

6. AI Features

Colonel Kernel predictions and reviews are generated by AI and are for entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional recommendations. Report issues to privacy@trykernl.com.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Kernl offers an optional paid subscription processed entirely through Apple's App Store. All billing, refunds, and subscription management are governed by Apple's Terms of Service. Kernl does not handle or store payment information.

• Kernl Pro - $1.99/month or $9.99/year. Includes unlimited CK predictions, Genre Squad up to 5 per genre, weekly CK debrief, and early access to new features. Includes a 30-day free trial for new subscribers.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting privacy@trykernl.com.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Movie and TV data is provided by TMDB and may occasionally be inaccurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kernl shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
